Milestones

When I started writing online, which was about five years ago (I'm OLD!), the intention was purely entertainment. I liked the language and I was good at the subject. I also noticed myself improving with every single post I wrote, which was one of the main reasons I kept at it. As time progressed, my writing had reached a reasonable standard (if I say so myself) and I made a conscious decision to take it more seriously. To date, this remains to be one of the few good decisions I've ever made.

India Today : Simply Chennai (15th Nov 2010) Will post an online link the moment the website gets updated.


Ofcourse, there is no discounting the abundance of luck I've been blessed with and the awesome, awesome support from you guys - I mean, I'm a 21 year old accounting nerd! This wasn't really part of the plan, but it happened. Thanks. For everything.

    thanks :)

    The original story went through quite a few changes (including the deadline being advanced!) and sruti hari was very gracious letting me get a quote from her in the last minute, and giving access to her pictures. I do understand that it wasn't exactly temple jewellery, but if it weren't for that, the piece wouldn't have made it to print, so i owe her! :)

    But, the print was supposed to accompanied by some funny cartoons :)

    Thought you would get into mainstream writing as a humor column writer. But this is still awesome!

All those complaining about the lack of humour should perhaps take note of the fact that a half-page photograph of a pretty lady wearing anything but temple jewelry adorns a story titled "Temple jewelry returns". Moved deadlines and other excuses notwithstanding, that is funny and shoddy. Sorry.
